Little White Boy by Lori Cook at Song School

by Lori Grebe Cook

The Misfit Club exclusive

about

This is Lori Grebe Cook's first performance of "Little White Boy," immediately after writing it, at the 2004 Rocky Mountain Song School. Of course it is very rough-- she just wrote it!-- and was still figuring out melody, lyrics and chords. I had told her the story only 3 days previously. I was sitting right in front of her, hearing her put the story of my youth in Jackson, Mississippi into song form. As you might guess, it was very emotional for me.

I uploaded this with Lori's permission.
